Creation In Isolation

A series of observational drawings exploring the now all familiar views of life indoors.

New York based illustrator and artist Carly Larsson shares a visual diary of her first thirty days of sheltering in place.

As winter began to disappear, Carly welcomed the new blooms of spring drawing weekly at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Shortly after, COVID-19 hit and it became clear that the only location drawing she would be drawing from was her apartment. This collection is a visual diary of her first thirty days sheltering in place.

“I'm trying to view this time as a sort of an artist's residency. It's been nice to be able to get lost in the work and lose track of time, not worrying about needing to be anywhere.”
