Her Political Body

December 9, 2015

Four women leaders in the spheres of thought, visual art and social justice joined one another in a candid discussion of the tide of our times and the deep correlation between art-making and activism. This forum, moderated by Creative Time’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Donnamarie Baptiste included: Wangechi Mutu, artist and visionary behind the AFRICA’S OUT! movement; Wanja Muguongo, a queer African feminist and executive director of UHAI EASRI–a beneficiary of AFRICA’SOUT!; Toyin Ojih Odutola, a contemporary artist focused on the concept of skin color through pen and ink drawings; and LaToya Ruby Frazier, a 2015 MacArthur art fellow.
