In Conversation: Chantal Akerman Stories

In honor of International Women’s Day we Joined Women Under the Influence and the curated streaming platform MUBI by taking a look at the life and work of one of feminist cinema’s icons, Chantal Akerman. We discussed the impact of her work with a group of groundbreaking experimental filmmakers, including special guest Babette Mangolte, the legendary cinematographer behind several of Akerman’s most acclaimed films. Together we explored one woman’s mission to create a new language in cinema and the ways in which female filmmakers are owning their stories today.
