Yaa Gyasi: Homegoing

Madison Square

June 14, 2016

Yaa Gyasi and visual artist Toyin Ojih Odutola joined us for a breakfast conversation celebrating the release of Gyasi’s critically acclaimed debut book, Homegoing, a novel that traces the family lines of two Ghanaian half sisters over 300 years and, in the process, reveals the devastating legacy of slavery in both Africa and the United States. Presented in collaboration with ARTNOIR, the conversation highlighted the new wave of millennial voices redefining how we see ourselves and the world around us with compelling diasporic narratives.
