In Conversation: Laurie Anderson & Julian Schnabel

Madison Square

21 February, 2018

NeueHouse hosted Laurie Anderson in conversation with artist Julian Schnabel, for a discussion of Anderson’s book All the Things That I Lost in the Flood, a survey of her five-decade career as one of America’s most original artists. Anderson’s career is best summarized by The New York Times; “she studied sculpture with Sol LeWitt, played the violin while wearing ice skates frozen in blocks of ice, recorded a song that reached No. 2 on the British charts, was queen of the Coney Island Mermaid Parade and became NASA’s first artist-in-residence.” That’s just for starters.
