In Conversation: Jason Rohrer

Madison Square

April 19, 2016

Computer programmer, writer, musician, and game designer Jason Rohrer was joined for a conversation with curator Michael Maizels and Frank Lantz, Director of the NYU Game Center. The trio discussed the games in Rohrer’s exhibition, the process of translating them into a museum setting, and the much anticipated upcoming launch of Rohrer’s newest game. The Game Worlds of Jason Rohrer at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College is the first museum retrospective dedicated to the work of a single video game maker. A day-long digital installation at NeueHouse allowed visitors to play some of Jason’s games on a large-scale screen.
