Preview: Yeethoven: The Kanye West / Beethoven Symphonic Mashup

Kanye West and Beethoven lived in very different times but their art played a similar role in their respective context and pushed similar musical boundaries. Co-creators Johan and Yuga Cohler talked about their highly successful 2016 concert Yeethoven, which reworked and reinterpreted both Beethoven and Kanye’s music in the form of a full orchestral arrangement, and is being reprised this winter at LA’s Belasco Theater and NYC’s Lincoln Center. At NeueHouse they previewed the event, illustrating some of their arguments, and featured a Q&A.
