DESIGN AWARDS 2025

A new platform recognizing the most thoughtful, forward-looking design across furniture, objects, technology, and interiors. Presented by Shinola in partnership with LA Design Festival.

California has long been a laboratory for transformative ideas. Here, Charles and Ray Eames reimagined modernism, Frank Gehry reshaped skylines, and Apple put design in the palm of our hands.

NeueHouse Hollywood is housed in the iconic CBS building, designed by William Lescaze and meticulously restored by Rockwell Group. Our flagship house stands at the heart of a creative ecosystem that has transformed global entertainment, a landmark that feels both rooted in design history and alive with possibility. It’s the perfect genesis for the inaugural NeueHouse Design Awards.

The Future of Work-Life

Design for a Life in Motion
The new workplace is everywhere—and nowhere. It’s your desk, your kitchen, the in-between spaces. We seek designs that move with us, not against us. Spaces and objects that adapt with elegance, flexibility, and intention.

Furnishings & Objects That Ground Us
We honor pieces that are more than functional. The future calls for sculptural seating, tactile textiles, and lifestyle products that support rest, rhythm, and resilience. Objects that feel as good as they perform. Objects that slow us down, so we can show up whole.

Calm Technology, Humane Systems
The best technologies are invisible companions—quiet, supportive, beautifully minimal. We celebrate calm technology and hero systems that restore attention, encourage movement, and protect our most valuable resource: presence.

Architectures of Wellbeing
The built environment is a nervous system. Architecture must now hold both productivity and peace. We seek spatial design that integrates nature, light, silence, and movement—spaces that recalibrate, not overstimulate.

Designing for the Whole Human
The future of work-life is human-centered. It prioritizes health, creativity, flexibility, and emotional intelligence. It is inclusive. Sensory. Soft-edged. We are looking for bold reimaginings—designs that don’t separate life from labor but elevate both.

Health & Hero Technologies

Work and life no longer live in separate rooms. They coexist, converge, and collide. We are entering an era not of balance—but of synergy. And design is the medium that makes this integration not only possible, but poetic.

JUDGING

As technology rapidly redefines our capabilities, we celebrate designers who reimagine artisan craftsmanship and creative expression, bringing human touch and technological innovation into harmonious dialogue. We are seeking designs that don’t just solve problems, but create compelling, functional beauty: chairs you can’t wait to sit in, technologies that disappear seamlessly into our lives, and designs that marry form and function with breathtaking elegance.

A panel of esteemed judges, leaders in art, architecture, and design, representing the forefront of innovative thinking will assemble to judge the awards, with the finalists presented at a gala at NeueHouse Hollywood in June 2025.
